Speaker of the House Paul Ryan is among lawmakers in Washington who want to get to the bottom of the Flint water crisis.
On Wednesday, there was a congressional hearing on the crisis, but Governor Rick Snyder did not testify.
Thursday, members of congress invited him to testify next week.
It’s not clear if he will.
Thursday, Snyder asked for an economic disaster declaration from the United States Small Business Administration.
If approved, low-interest loans would be available to some businesses in Genesee County that suffered financially because of the lead-contaminated water.
Also on Thursday, Attorney General Bill Schuette warned the website FlintWater.com of potential charitable solicitation violations because of the site’s unauthorized use of logos of established charities including United Way, Flint Water Response Team and the American Red Cross.
