Five people are dead after a house fire this morning downstate.
It happened at 9:30 am on Sunday in Novi Oakland County.
The victims were found inside the basement after the fire was put out.
Firefighters attempted to resuscitate two of the victims but were unsuccessful.
Novi Public Safety Director says a preliminary investigation shows the fire started in the basement but the cause is still under investigation.
