New Lawsuit Seeks Replacement of Lead Pipes in Flint’s Water System

A new lawsuit is seeking an upgrade in Flint’s water system.

The lawsuit asks that Michigan and Flint be forced to replace all lead pipes in the city’s water system to ensure residents have access to safe drinking water.

The complaint says that customers should not have to pay for the replacement of service lines from water mains into homes, and it is asking for an order requiring city and state officials responsible for any alleged violations of the federal Safe Drinking Water Act to fix their mistakes.

This lawsuit is among at least four others filed over Flint’s lead-contaminated water.
