Feedback at 5:00: Kansas Lawmaker’s New Dress Code

A Kansas lawmaker is the center of plenty of criticism for a new proposed dress code.

Senator Mitch Holmes’ rule states that anyone speaking to the committee should be dressed professionally, and specifically, women should not wear low cut necklines or miniskirts.

The committee chairman said Holmes said he considered stipulating that men had to wear a suit and tie, but believed men did not need additional instruction on how to look professional.

Critics are calling the lawmaker’s proposal demeaning, sexist and insulting.
