Event Friday: Pay it Forward Shoveling, Native Culture Workshop, Snowmobile Race

It’s Event Friday on Michigan This Morning!

Here’s a quick look at a few things going on around Northern Michigan this weekend.

Pay it Forward Shoveling

It can be difficult for many seniors to shovel the snow around their homes, so the “Pay it Forward Shoveling” event is taking place in Kalkaska to help them out.

Everyone is invited to head to Kalkaska to shovel area seniors walk ways, drives and porches.

Volunteers will be meeting at the local Burger King parking lot at 1 p.m. Friday.

Native Culture Workshop

The Kevin Locke Workshop is taking place at the Leelanau Sands Casino Showroom Friday at 10 a.m.

The workshop provides a unique opportunity to learn about native culture.

It includes hoop dancing, stories, flute playing and songs.

The workshop is free of charge and open to all ages.

Snowmobile Race

A snowmobile race is taking place in Interlochen this weekend.

A drivers meeting is being held Friday night at 5:30 followed by the race on Saturday at 10 a.m.
