Boardman Township Considering New Race Track to Replace Cherry Raceway

A new race track may take the place of The Cherry Raceway after it closed down.

Wednesday night Bill Stepke spoke at the Boardman Township meeting about building a new dirt track by Vista Green.

A Kalkaska County commissioner says dozens of members of the racing community were at the meeting to show their support.

The village of South Boardman says on Facebook that Stepke is bringing the permit application and plans to the planning commission at their meeting next Thursday at 7 p.m. and it is open to the public.
