LSSU women’s basketball falls at home to Grand Valley State

SAULT STE. MARIE – Despite a game-high 21 points from Gaylord native Mackenzie Edwards, the Lake Superior State women’s basketball team dropped a 71-49 GLIAC contest to visiting Grand Valley State on Thursday.

GVSU (13-4, 8-3 GLIAC) led 14-11 after the opening quarter but utilized a 22-8 second quarter to pull away.

Piper Tucker led GVSU with 16 points, while Tamara Novic and Alexis Rowe tallied six points apiece for LSSU (3-14, 2-9).

LSSU returns to action Saturday afternoon against Ferris State.
