Judge in Mount Pleasant Murder Trial Declares Mistrial

After spending four days on jury selection in a murder trial, a Mount Pleasant judge has declared a mistrial.

The Mary Bigford trial began last Monday at the Isabella County courthouse in Mount Pleasant.

Mary Bigford is accused of killing her granddaughter’s father Lawrence Howard Jr. in April.

Her first trial started last week but the judge declared a mistrial during the attorneys opening arguments on Friday.

A new trial is now set for the end of February.
