Buffalo holds off Central Michigan 74-61

   BUFFALO, N.Y. — Jarryn Skeete scored 13 points, dished out a career-high 12 assists and Buffalo held off Central Michigan for a 74-61 win Saturday.

   Blake Hamilton contributed 14 points, while grabbing nine rebounds, and Willie Conner added 13 points for Buffalo (9-8, 2-2 Mid-American). The Bulls hit 25 of 50 from the field and controlled the glass 44-30.

   Central Michigan (9-8, 2-2) trailed by double figures much of the game but cut the gap to 54-52 late in the second half with Rayshawn Simmons’ layup. Connor then sank a pair of free throws at the other end and Hamilton hit a 3-pointer to spark a 13-0 run that clinched the win.

   Simmons paced Central Michigan with 14 points and seven assists. Chris Fowler and Josh Kozinski added 12 points apiece for the Chippewas, who were held to 36 percent shooting from the floor (24 of 66).
