A huge milestone for a popular, local radio station.
WTCM is celebrating 75 years!
The station was founded in 1939 by Les Biederman.
He canvased the country looking to find a location to build a radio station and decided to call Traverse City home.
75 years later, and the station has continued to grow, rooting themselves in the community.
“Some things just aren’t going out to style and that is for 75 years we’ve been a trusted companion to the community,” says general manager, Chris Warren. “We provide all the necessary information and entertainment that are listeners are looking for.”
This afternoon WTCM invited longtime community members to stop by the station to celebrate and look back on fun times.
