Mason County Deputy Recovering After Being Bit By Inmate

A Mason County deputy is recovering after an inmate bit him last week.

It happened early in the morning New Year’s Day.

Ludington police arrested a man who was heavily intoxicated.

As deputies tried to move Martin Conway to a detox cell, he became violent and he spit on one deputy then bit another deputy’s finger.

That deputy was treated at a local hospital and released.

Conway is now charged with assaulting a deputy.
