Northern Michigan Looks Forward to 2016

With 2016 just hours away people in Northern Michigan are looking ahead to the new year and reflecting on 2015.

The New Year means a fresh start and a look back at this year’s successes and failures.

With 2016 nearly upon us people in northern Michigan are eagerly awaiting the start of a new year, ready to see what’s in store

“We’re looking forward to some peace globally, and time with family and a balance between work and our friends,” said Carolyn Beckett.

For some, the New Year is chance to look ahead and build on accomplishments of 2015.

“I’ve kind of started out on my own in the last year or two I’m just looking forward to continuing that and learning more about what it’s like to be an adult,” said Erica Shirk.

Others are hoping for a fresh start and want to shake off those old struggles.

“I’d like to probably work myself into a situation where I can afford the things I need for everyday life. I’m retired and on social security and that doesn’t go very far,” said one man.

Many others want to continue working toward important goals in 2016 and make it a year of milestones.

“I’m halfway through college now so I’m just looking on making sure I keep a good job pay for the college, just getting good grades so I can continue education and get a job I’m going to enjoy,” said Nick Wright.

“Just a good school year, continue to get good grades, excel in school and more snow, that’s what we want, we want more snow,” said the Card Family.

Whatever the resolution, or goal the New Year gives everyone the chance to dream big and make 2016 the best year yet.
