MyNorth Tickets Minute: NYE at the Arts Center, Pipe Up Campaign, Vintage Hollywood NYE

Christmas is coming up quickly, and the New Year is just around the corner.

Kalin Franks shows you what’s happening in Northern Michigan for the start of 2016 in this week’s .

New Year’s Eve at the Arts Center was established in an effort to create an all age, family friendly, alcohol-free and artistic celebration to launch the New Year. It was also a fun way for the arts center to fulfill its mission "to inspire and enrich lives through the arts."

It’s happening 5 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Our marquee New Year’s Eve party theme is "Vintage Hollywood" and features live music from The Texas Gypsies and local favorite Miriam Pico and David Chown. The Texas Gypsies have an eclectic sound that combines original and classic Vintage Swing, Gypsy jazz, Western Swing, New Orleans Jazz, Blues and Rockabilly styles.

Please join us New Year’s Eve to celebrate the end of 2015 and the beauty of the Great Lakes at Betsie Bay Furniture in Frankfort. All proceeds will go to FLOW and Groundwork in the effort to spur public awareness about the oil pipeline that threatens the great lakes daily. Food provided by Suz McLaughlin-Local foodie and Entertainment by the fabulous Blake Elliott and the Robinson Affair.
