Even in the middle of December, some fisherman are finding time to hit the water.
Orvis Streamside in downtown Traverse City says fly fishing is big for them year round.
From fly fishing school to fly tying classes, the store says this weather has kept people coming in for their fly fishing needs.
Many people also find themselves getting new tackle and fishing supplies for the holiday season.
“My guides are still going out because it’s been such a mild winter,” says Dave Leonhard. “They can still float the rivers and launch their boats and get in and get out. We’re still selling flies, we’re still selling tackle. The fishing’s season still pretty good, still going.”
Orvis Streamside fly tying classes begin at the beginning of January.
