Cadillac Pediatrician’s Memory Lives On Through Legacy Gift To Local Hospital

She dedicated her life to some of the smallest patients. Now this well-loved pediatrician’s memory will live on through a legacy gift in Cadillac.

Dr. Nora Chang passed away on her 95th birthday back in September.

Her estate gift of $466,000 will now help support Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital.

Dr. Chang was born in China, and started practicing medicine in 1946.

Her career took her to Taiwan, then to Boston, Washington D.C., Haiti and Detroit.

She moved to Northern Michigan, where she worked until she retired in 1991, and spent the rest of her life in Cadillac.

As her patients grew up, she was known to ask about them by name.

“We are thrilled with this gift. It’s going to be put in to the Cadillac Hospital Foundation through Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital Foundation and will be used for the future good projects at the hospital,” says David McCurdy, Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital.

Those who knew her say Dr. Chang was a kind, gracious and outstanding doctor who loved her young patients as if they were her own.
