Lansing Leaders Want to Make City More Welcoming To Refugees

Leaders in our state capitol want to make the city a more welcoming place for refugees and immigrants of all faiths.

The East Lansing City Council and Ingham County Board of Commissioners both passed resolutions to support refugees from Syria and other countries of the Middle East.

Mayor Virg Bernerno says Michigan’s capital city is joining the Welcoming Michigan Coalition.

The coalition was created in response of the disturbing comments made at the national level about Arab refugees and Muslim faiths.
