New Exhibit in Traverse City to Highlight Established, Emerging Textile Artists
A new two-part exhibition at the Dennos Museum Center in Traverse City will feature many works by established and emerging fiber artists from 25 U.S. states and a number of other countries.
Among these pieces are a basket woven with cedar roots and a necklace braided from wool, nylon, and pig intestines.
The exhibit is titled “Extreme Fibers: Textile Icons and the New Edge.”
It will open Sunday, December 13th and is set to run through March 6th.
The Dennos Museum Store will be holding an exhibition and sale of wearable art by Michigan fiber artists in conjunction with the show.
