Bradley Tanner scores 3 TDs as Romeo takes Division 1 title

 DETROIT (AP) — Bradley Tanner scored three touchdowns Saturday as Romeo defeated Detroit Cass Tech, 41-27, to win its first Division 1 state championship.

   Romeo (13-1) was making its first appearance in a state title game. Cass Tech (11-3) was in the finals for the first time since winning the trophy in 2011 and 2012.

   Tanner’s scoring runs were from 20, 31 and 16 yards. The Bulldogs also scored on Paul Hurley’s 60-yard pass to Lucas Schimon and touchdown runs of 10 yards by Domenico Bongiorno and 20 yards by Hurley.

   Cass Tech’s Donovan Johnson scored on runs of 1 yard and 6 yards. Aaron Jackson threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Demetric Vance and a 36-yard scoring strike to Donovan People-Jones.
