What should the 2015 “Word Of the Year” be? Why?

Every year the Oxford Dictionary chooses a “Word Of the Year,” which represents the year’s biggest trends or changes in the English language.

This year – they actually chose an emoji!

It’s a happy yellow cartoon face shedding two giant tears, and it’s official name is “face with tears of joy." It’s often used to express laughter.

The organization’s president says emoji’s are increasingly being used as a substitute for actual words due to the fast pace of digital communication.
