Northern Michigan Wineries Awarded Grants

Hundreds of thousands of dollars in grant money is coming to a couple of northern Michigan wineries to open tasting rooms.

The U.S Department of Agriculture awarded the Brengman Brothers Winery in Traverse City and Gallagher’s Vineyard and Winery in Cedar. Both grants are worth $250,000.

The grant money is aimed at helping develop new products and expand their market for existing items.

Indian Summer Cooperative in Ludington also got the same amount of money to increase production of its applesauce cups.
