Traverse City Planning Commission Approves Nine-Story Building Proposal

Traverse City is moving forward with plans for a nine-story development in its downtown area, after the city’s planning commission approved a new proposal.

Last night, the commission invited the public to meet and discuss their opinions about the potential project.

Supporters said it would bring affordable housing and more business to the downtown area. People opposed to the project say the building would raise environmental concerns and that the project is too large for Traverse City.

The proposal will now go to the city commission for consideration.
