Munson Taking Candy, Sending to Troops
If this weekend’s rainy weather had fewer trick-or-treaters on your doorstep, maybe you have some extra candy left over.
There’s a place you can drop the candy off where it will go to someone who could really use something sweet.
Munson Medical Center and the Northern Michigan Diabetes Initiative are giving back to troops while also promoting healthy eating habits for children.
Kids and their parents can drop off Halloween candy at Munson Medical Center of the Munson Community Health Center in Traverse City. The drop-off is open today and tomorrow from 8:30 a.m.- 4 p.m.
The candy will be donated and sent to troops serving overseas. Last year, 370 lbs. of candy were collected for troops.
