Wakefield Christmas Tree Arrives in Lansing

The state Christmas tree was delivered safe and sound to Lansing this morning.

The tree was picked earlier this month. It’s a 66-foot spruce tree donated from a woman from the city of Wakefield in the Upper Peninsula. It’s Michigan’s 30th official Christmas tree.

Dozens of people watched and helped set up the tree. A tree lighting and fireworks display are scheduled for Nov. 20 at Lansing’s "Silver Bells in the City" celebration.
