Ogemaw County to Host ‘Savor It’ Competition to Raise Money for Medical Center

There’s a chance this week to enjoy tasty dishes, while also donating to a good cause.

It’s called the "Savor It" competition and it’s happening at the Ogemaw County Fair Grounds in West Branch.

The cooking competition will feature chefs from across the state.

It costs $25 for a ticket, which will get you food, beer and wine.

Proceeds will go toward buying new beds for the West Branch Regional Medical Center.

“Our community has supported this event with  65 auction items, raffle items, silent auction items, which are just a wonderful way for people to get something out of the event, have fun, come home with something and also help purchase beds for our citizens here in this region,” says Tolfree Foundation Executive Director Cynthia Longchamps.

The competition is happening this Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. with Chef Hermann judging the entries.

It’s put on by the Tolfree Foundation, as part of its Comfort, Safety, Care campaign.
