Feedback at 5:00: Processed Meats Linked to Cancer

The World Health Organization released a new report today, suggesting processed meats, like hot dogs, holiday hams and sausage can cause cancer.

It also says that red meat could be a contributing factor in developing forms of the disease.

The World Health Organization’s cancer group classifies processed meats as “carcinogenic to humans" — that’s in the same category as cigarettes, with the potential to cause colon cancer.

Red meat was classified as "probably carcinogenic to humans."

The meat industry calls the report biased and misleading.
