Montcalm Co. Crash Sends Motorcycle Driver to Hospital

The Michigan State Police are investigating a two-vehicle accident in Montcalm County that sent a motorcycle driver to the hospital.

Police say the crash happened at the intersection of Sidney Rd. and Grow Rd.

They say a woman driving an SUV north on Grow Rd. stopped at the stop sign approaching Sidney Rd. She continued past the stop sign and was hit by a man driving the motorcycle.

The motorcycle driver was treated at the scene and was taken to a hospital in Greenville. From there, an AroMed helicopter from Grand Rapids met at the hospital and took the man to Butterworth Hospital.

Police believe alcohol played a role in the crash. They also say the motorcycle driver saved himself from much worse of an injury because he was wearing a helmet.
