Sorority Teeter-Totters for Charity

Sleet, snow and wind are not stopping one sorority from raising money for charity this weekend.

The Alpha Kappa Chi chapter from Lake State University is having their annual Teeter-Totter A-Thon in downtown Sault Ste. Marie. This is their 29th year for the 48 hour event. They hope to raise over $3,000.

Battling wind chills in the 20’s — the girls are raising money for the Diane Peppler Resource Center and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Despite the chilly weather, it’s something they really love to do.

Kassondra Gildner says, "We just love giving back and that is what we are here for… like helping people is what we are here for. A good hear and a lot of drive in you because its cold and you have to be strong. Can’t be a quitter!"

The group will continue to teeter totter until noon Sunday.
