Michigan’s Seasonal Unemployment Rate Continues to Drop

Michigan’s seasonal unemployment rate continues to drop.

The state’s unemployment rate has dipped 1/10 of a percentage point to 5 percent.

This means that for the first time 15 years, Michigan’s jobless rate is lower than the national rate.

Officials say the total employment in September increased by 10,000.

While the number of unemployed dropped by 7,000 and state officials say so far this year it has remained below 300,000.
