Pilot in Grand Rapids Says Someone Pointed Lasers At Plane

A pilot landing at mid-Michigan airport reported someone pointed lasers at the plane’s cockpit.

It happened around 5:30 Tuesday morning at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids.

Police have not found the person responsible.

Lasers can distract or temporarily blind pilots.

Pointing one at a plane is a federal crime.

The pilot in Grand Rapids was able to land the non-commercial plane safely.
