What’s Going On In West Michigan: Hoxeyville Classic Car Show, Jazz Weekend, Mackinac Bridge Walk

We are less than two weeks from Labor Day.

With the holiday being the unofficial end to summer, you’ll want to make the most of that long weekend.

So it’s time to start planning!

Courtney Sheffer of the explains what’s going on in our area the next few weeks.

This first one is for all you car buffs.

Coming up next month is the .

That takes place Sunday, September 6 at Coyote Crossing Resort in Cadillac.

It all starts with a pancake breakfast.

After that, spend the day enjoying the classic cars on a beautiful landscape.

Last year, there were more than 100 cars on display.

And if you have a car you’d like to display, registration is only $15.

And if you’re looking to relax this Labor Day weekend, you may want to consider heading to the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, where they’re holding the .

Enjoy shows by the Dirty Dozen Brass Band and New York Voices, all while dining on the Tea Garden Cookout in the afternoon.

Then you can move to the indoor theatre for more music and a cocktail reception in the evening.

Tickets are available for each day, or you can book a weekend package.

Also on Labor Day, get your walking shoes on for the annual five-mile .

Saint Ignace hosts the start of the walk each year.

And at the end, transportation is available to take you back there after the awe-inspiring walk.

Free parking is also available.

The annual Labor Day Mackinac Bridge Walk is a rare chance to get a new perspective of the Mighty Mac and the water below.
