Big Rapids begins new era under Selzer
BIG RAPIDS – The Big Rapids football program is starting fresh again in 2015.
Mike Selzer becomes the third head coach for Cardinals in three years.
Selzer brings with him more than 20 years of coaching experience and a new offensive scheme to the table.
"One thing I think we’re really focusing on is the mental toughness side of a football game, and being on a football team,” Selzer said. “I think we’re really focusing on that right now, and the guys are responding well. A lot of guys have stepped up into the roles. We don’t have anybody that’s just out in front as the leader, we have a lot of people picking up responsibility, and holding each other accountable for those things."
The Cardinals will look to erase a two-year postseason drought and secure their first winning season since going 8-2 in 2012.
Big Rapids opens its season Thursday, traveling to Cadillac.
