Justin Currie waived by NY Giants

Former Big Rapids High School star and Western Michigan University graduate Justin Currie was waived by the New York Giants Monday after sustaining a season-ending injury in last Saturday’s exhibition game against Jacksonville.

Currie, a rookie free agent, fractured his ankle and fibula in the first quarter in the Giants’ 22-12 win over Jacksonville.

A 2015 WMU graduate, Currie appeared in 47 games with the Broncos, making 37 starts over his final three seasons.
