Ferris State football ranked 6th in AFCA DII Preseason Poll

Defending Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion Ferris State University has been picked sixth in the nation in the 2015 American Football Coaches’ Association Division II National Preseason Poll.

A consensus top 10 team in every preseason poll and ranked as high as second in the country by Sporting News, the Bulldogs are coming off their best season in program history.

Led by quarterback and 2014 Harlon Hill Trophy Award recipient Jason Vander Lann, Ferris State posted the first 11-0 regular-season in its 106th season of varsity competition, capturing its first conference championship in 15 years and making its first trip to the postseason in 18 years.

Ferris State opens its season on Sept. 12, hosting Northwood.
