TC Christian football building off successful camp

TRAVERSE CITY – The Traverse City Christian football program has battled through its fair share of adversity since its first season in 2010.

The Sabres got a boost though earlier this year when it was announced that they would be joining the expanding Northern Michigan Football League in 2016.

With a young group of 25 players, TC Christian is looking to build off its most successful preseason camp to date.

“At the end of camp, a lot of the players who had been through the camps before, thought that we had came out probably at the best we’ve ever been as far as fundamentals, knowing plays,” TC Christian coach Darryl Wiggins said. “We are a growing program, and we’ve got a lot of young guys, but they really did a great job at camp.”

The Sabres are scheduled to kick off their season at Forest Area on Aug. 28.
