Boyne City football back for more in 2015
BOYNE CITY – A year after running the table in the Northern Michigan Football League and nearly ending Ithaca’s 68-game winning streak in the Division 6 state semifinals, Boyne City is back for more in 2015.
With another extended postseason run on their minds, the Ramblers are prepping with a regular season schedule that features five programs that made the playoffs in 2014, including Charlevoix, Mendon, Mancelona and Traverse City St. Francis.
“Our schedule top to bottom is pretty stacked,” Boyne City coach David Hills said. “When you get through something like that, if you’re healthy, it really helps come playoff time, and that’s why you always want to try to challenge yourself during the season as much as you can. And that league certainly does it and I expect it to be even tougher this year.”
The Ramblers kick off their 2015 slate on Aug. 27, hosting perennial state power Mendon.
