Lakeview football eyes first district title
LAKEVIEW – A year after running the table en route to a Central State Activities Association Silver Division title, Lakeview is eyeing more success in 2015.
After making consecutive postseason appearances, the Wildcats have their sights set on getting past the pre-district round of the playoffs for the first time in 15 years and capturing the program’s first district championship.
“Lakeview hasn’t gotten to the second round in nine or 10 years and they’ve never won a district title, so that’s something we talk about every day, and I think this team is capable of doing that,” Lakeview coach Sean Rinehart said. “We’ve got our two captains just voted on last week, Tony Seaborn at running back and safety, and our quarterback Mike Halladay. Those are two guys are going to be big for us.”
Lakeview beings its season with two straight road games, traveling to Howard City Tri-County on Aug. 28.
