What’s Going On In West Michigan: Joshua Davis Concert, Enchanted Story Time, Beaver Island Run
Summer may be starting to wind down, but there's no shortage of fun to be had in Northern Michigan.
Whether you're in the musical mood or looking to get active, chances are something will speak to you.
Courtney Sheffer from the West Michigan Tourist Association has more details on some upcoming events.
Michigan folk singer and one of the top three contestants from the voice, Joshua Davis is holding his homecoming concert.
It’s happening Thursday at the Interlochen Center for the Arts.
Davis, from Traverse City, is a singer-songwriter.
Raised in the folk tradition, he writes songs that combine the roots of American music with rock and roll and vintage soul.
The concert begins at 8.
You can buy tickets for $30 each.
And looking ahead to next week, Charlevoix's Castle Farms is holding an Enchanted Story Time.
It's perfect for your little ones and their imaginations.
They'll enjoy looking for gnomes in the enchanted forest, finding butterflies in the butterfly garden and hunting through the hedge maze.
This event takes place on Wednesday, August 19 starting at 11 a.m. and running through 3 p.m.
Finally, it's time to start training if you're interested in this year's Beaver Island Run.
Chances are it will be one of the most beautiful runs you'll ever do.
You can run a half marathon, 10K or 5K on the Saturday of Labor Day.
The beautiful course offers variety, excellent surfaces and just a few gentle hills.
Registration is now open.
And you have a little more than three weeks to get in shape for this great chance to run Beaver Island.
