UPDATE: Explosion Kills Man In Antrim County

UPDATE:

We can now tell you the name of the man who died after an explosion in Antrim County. 

Deputies say the explosion happened at the home of 71-year-old Charles Lundy in Kewadin just after 11:00 a.m. on Monday. 

They say Lundy was trying to braze an end onto an enclosed 55 gallon drum, but the end blew up and hit Lundy.

Deputies say he was brazing the ends of the drum to make it into a wheel, to help him move his boat in and out of the lake.

An Antrim County man is dead after an explosion at his home.

Police say it happened at a house on Birch Lake Road in Kewadin.

They're still investigating what caused the explosion just after 11:00 a.m. Monday morning.

But say that it did not start a fire afterward.

After the deadly blast, a neighbor tells us the scene was chaotic.

“Heard the ambulances and then the fire trucks followed and then more fire trucks and then multiple police cars 3 or 4, 5 police cars.”

Nobody else was hurt in the explosion but police continue to look into what happened.
