Cuba, U.S. Re-establish Relations, Re-open Embassies
Five decades of animosity between the United States and Cuba has finally come to an end.
The new era of U.S. Cuba relations began just after midnight.
This morning, the Cuban flag will be hung quietly in the lobby of the State Department alongside those of other nations the U.S. has diplomatic relations with.
The shift will be publicly remembered later today when Cuban officials reopen their embassy in Washington.
Later today, Secretary of State, John Kerry will address reporters at a joint news conference with his Cuban counterpart.
