Nintendo Top Executive Passes Away
The gaming world is mourning the loss of one of Nintendo's top executives.
Satoru Iwata died Saturday of bile duct cancer.
His death comes just months after he threw out the Japanese video game giant's consoles-only policy.
He started with the company as a programmer in 1999.
Two years later he became CEO.
He's credited with Nintendo's successful turnaround in the early 2-thousands with products including the Wii and Nintendo DS consoles.
Iwata was 55 years old.
