Gov. Snyder: National Cherry Festival, TC Improve Every Year

During the DTE Cherry Royale Parade Saturday, the streets of Traverse City were truly lined with people–from pretty much everywhere–notably–Governor Snyder was in the audience.

Snyder joined area republican leaders for breakfast at the Park Place Hotel and after that, he joined in on the parade fun.

Northern Michigan's News Leader had the opportunity to sit down with the governor who said he always enjoys coming to Traverse City, especially during the National Cherry Festival.

“Well I'm excited to be here—the Cherry Festival is a great Michigan tradition and it gets better every year,” said Governor Snyder. “If you look at how things are going in this area too, unemployment is way down in this area, tourism is up, agriculture is up… the intersection of agriculture and tourism is even more exciting, so it's great to be here.”
