Wisconsin Man Sentenced For Sexually Abusing Northern Michigan Girls

A Wisconsin man is going to prison for sexually abusing girls in Northern Michigan.

Edward Peterson of the Lac Du Flambeau Band of the Lake Superior Chippewa Tribe in Wisconsin was sentenced to seven years in federal prison.

That’s on top of a four year sentence he’s already serving for first-degree sexual assault on a child.

Monday he pleaded guilty to one count of of abusive sexual contact with four girls under the age of 12.

All the victims are with the Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa Indians.

Police say it happened between 2009 and 2011 on tribal land in Emmet County near Petoskey.

Peterson must also pay $100,000 in restitution to the victims.
