MSP Still Investigating Lewiston Church Break-In

Police continue to search for whoever broke into a church in Montmorency county.

The churches secretary found items scattered on the floor and missing money Wednesday morning.

The thief broke in through a basement window in order to get into Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lewiston.

The church believes they got away with around $100 dollars.

The money was in a cash deposit box used to store Sunday morning’s offerings as well as donations used for families with unplanned pregnancies.

Bethlehem Church associates are trying to understand why anyone would do this.

“I hope that they find them and punish them. Understand that you do not do this. It’s just really sad.”

If you have any information on the church break-in, you’re asked to call police.
