BREAKING: SCOTUS Rules Same-Sex Marriage Legal Nationwide

In a 5-4 ruling, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled same-sex marriage is legal in all 50 states.

The court discussed two main questions on the issue. Whether states can ban same-sex marriage and whether all states must recognize lawful marriages performed out of state.

Couples could already marry in 36 states and Washington, D.C. Today’s decision means in the 14 other states, including Michigan, same-sex marriage is now legal. Those states will have to stop enforcing bans on same-sex marriage.
