Roscommon County Deadly Shooting Suspect Arrested Downstate

The manhunt for Francisco Arroyo is over.

Police arrested the suspected killer today after the murder of a woman and shooting of a man yesterday.

Arroyo was found hiding at a home not far from where deputies found his truck.

Family say he shot and killed a woman and injured a man Wednesday afternoon in Roscommon County.

The shootings happened in Nester Township.

Arroyo was arrested today in Warren in Macomb County.

He will now be brought back to Roscommon county to face murder charges.

This afternoon warren police in Macomb County took Francisco Arroyo into custody.

They spotted a truck matching the description of the one Roscommon County police were looking for.

“It was believed the suspect was inside the residence not far from where his vehicle was located through conversation with homeowners at the residence and they were able to order Francisco out of the residence and take him into custody,” says Roscommon County undersheriff Ed Stern.

A peaceful ending to a violent crime.

The undersheriff says this case has shaken the entire community, and he’s glad it’s over.

“It’s kind of a shock at the beginning that this just happened on a Wednesday afternoon in the middle of the summer,” says Stern.

He hopes Arroyo’s arrest will allow the family of Anita Bright time to heal and move forward.

“My condolences to the family of the deceased victim its something I’ve never been through myself I can only imagine how they feel but hopefully with this arrest and with the prosecution we’ll be able to bring some type of closure to them,” says Stern.

Arroyo will be brought back here to Roscommon County to be arranged.

He’s facing charges of homicide, attempted murder, home invasion, and felony firearm.

He will also be held without bond.
