US Secretary Of Defense Supports NATO’s Rapid Response Team

Defense Secretary, Ashton Carter says the US will support NATO’s Rapid Response Team.

This will include providing a range of logistical expertise and intelligence capabilities to the team.

He clarified this does not mean an increase in US troops to Europe.

The Rapid Response Team is able to deploy in 2 to 7 days.

That’s shorter than the current nato response force.

To deploy the team, a country has to put in a request with the Commander of The Supreme Allied Command.

Then the US would consider the request.
