Immunized McBain Student Diagnosed With Whooping Cough

An immunized student has been diagnosed with whooping cough.

McBain Rural Agricultural School posted this message on its Facebook page:

“This message is to inform you of a confirmed case of whooping cough which was diagnosed in one of students despite being immunized. If you are not fully protected against pertussis or have symptoms we strongly encourage you to contact your medical provider or the heath department. Pertussis can be treated or prevented with antibiotics if detected early. In cases where individuals were immunized, symptoms are not readily detected, however can be treated with the proper medical assistance. Thank you.”
