Ford Foundation Representatives Visit Detroit For First Time Since 1940’s

For the first time since the 1940’s, representatives from the Ford Foundation are actually in Detroit.

The New York-based foundation is in the Motor City to discuss its $125 million commitment to the city’s grand bargain.

It helps soften retiree pension cuts and protect the city’s art from creditors.

It will also meet with local nonprofits that receive foundation grant money.

Events surrounding the visit are planned through Thursday.
