Eastpointe Man Accused of Murdering Family Will Undergo Psychiatric Exam

A downstate man charged with murdering his family will undergo a psychiatric exam.

Timothy Fradeneck is accused of strangling his wife, their 2-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son in Eastpointe.

He is charged with first-degree murder and child abuse.

Investigators say Fradeneck planned to kill himself as well but failed.

The defense says he was mentally ill at the time of incident.

His trial is set for October 6.
