Japan Warns Citizens of Possible Volcanic Eruption
Over in Japan, the country’s meteorological agency warns of a possible minor volcanic eruption.
Thursday, the agency raised the alert level for Mount Asama by one notch, now a two on a scale of five.
Shallow quakes below the summit started increasing in late April.
But on Sunday, the agency recorded around 90 tremors.
The volcano has erupted more than 50 times in the last century.
The latest eruption took place in 2009 but was also considered minor.
